Oreo-Doodles



Hey guys...How are y'all doing????? I am finally settled in my house and all set to start blogging again....Although a lot of my stuff has not reached India yet (which includes my tripod and all of my prop) , I am managing with whatever I have here....I wanted to bake something for the Valentine's day and was searching the net for a recipe...I saw this recipe on gimmesomeoven and knew that this would be the best valentines day treat for my son, who is a die hard fan of oreo cookies....The cookies were a hit and were polished off the very same day....And I was been pushed daily to make these again......( The recipe makes a large batch...I halved the recipe when I made them first , but this time stuck to the full recipe )...So on popular demand from Bhavye and his friends, here is Oreo-Doodles.....



All you need is ( makes 36-40 cookies )

All purpose flour- 1 cup
Unsweetened cocoa powder-1\2 cup
Baking soda-1\2 tsp
Salt -1\2 tsp
Semi sweet chocolate-115 gm
Unsalted butter-115 gm
Granulated sugar-1 and 1\4 cups
Eggs-2 ( large )
Vanilla extract-1 tsp
Mini chocolate chips-1 cup
Oreo cookies-12 ( finely powdered in a blender )



Method of preparation

Pre heat the oven to 160 degrees C
In a bowl, whisk together all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt
Add semi sweet chocolate and butter in a bowl and warm in a double boiler or a microwave ,till chocolate is melted and mixed with butter
Add sugar,eggs and vanilla to the chocolate mixture and whisk with the electric blender, till combined
Gradually add the flour and whisk till combined
Fold in the chocolate chips
Measure a tablespoon of batter and make a ball
Roll the ball in oreo crumbs
( If the batter is too sticky, remove the measured  batter from the spoon and roll in oreo crumbs and then make a ball )
Flatten the balls a little bit and arrange in a baking tray, 2 inches apart
Bake for 10-12 minutes, till cracks appear on the surface
Remove from the oven and cool the cookies on a cooling rack
Store in an airtight container , up to 2 weeks


Tips

Different ovens have different settings.So the time of baking may vary a little bit .
Before using the same tray for baking, let it cool completely or use another tray
Before removing the cookies from the tray. let them cool for 5 minutes

  3. ah you changed your blog name! That's why it wasnt familiar initially..;P, my daughter is a big Oreo fan too, I must really try my hands on homemade, yours look really good!
