Monkey Bar has already been a talk of the town’s foodies with its first joint in central Bangalore and I’d myself thoroughly enjoyed it on every visit. Be it breakfast with family or evening catch up with friends, Monkey Bar has always been on the list. So when I heard about the Indiranagar hosting the second one, I was overjoyed as I would not have to jostle around with the traffic as this one is much closer to home.
I was invited to review the new outlet over lunch with other fellow bloggers and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
With strategically located in the posh area of Indiranagar, the pub is easily accessible and would give run for the money to the existing pubs around . The interiors are quite unique with bare brick walls covered with funny and quirky posters collected from all around the world. The unconventional wall hangings like a scooter and model of a glider plane hangs on the walls and match perfectly with the warm and rustic feel of the Pub. A pool table and a foosball table on the upper level makes for a perfect hangout place with friends for an after work or weekend drink.
The drink menu of the bar is pretty interesting with a combination of traditional cocktails along with the house specialties. Maanga, which is a vodka based cocktail with raw mangoes, cumin and mint is made even more interesting by being served in a nutella jar. Copper monkey, which is a concoction of Whiskey, orange juice, passion fruit and mint was another of my favorite. It is served in a old fashioned copper tumbler. Ginger roger and red riding wood are a few others which are fun to sip on.
The food menu at the Money Bar is pretty extensive with a lot of traditional dishes from various cuisines which have been given a magical twist by the chef. The menu is a little biased towards the non vegetarians but the vegetarians options are also enough. Each and every dish that was served was made with perfection and I’d to resist calling for second servings.
Sweet potato Fries
Shredded pork sloppy Joe
Pork belly sliders
Crab rangoon, tempura calamari, pepper chicken, pierogies and shami sliders were among the other dishes served.
For the dessert, we were served a chocolate mousse topped with caramel pop corns and toasted pound cake. This dessert is to die for and I could not resist myself ordering for a second serving. The crunchy caramel pop corns gives the perfect crunch to the silky smooth chocolate mousse. The other dessert served was a lemon cake which was too sweet for my taste.
Overall I would say that Monkey Bar has nicely understood the current generation of foodies as well as newbies and is well positioned to serve this category. So when you want to hang out with friends or just take your family for an outing, Monkey Bar is certainly an option. Take my word and don’t miss out on all the fun, food and drinks at this great location.
