Alto Vino, Marriott, Whitefield, Bangalore Review
Alto Vino, Marriott, Whitefield, Bangalore…
Alto Vino has already established itself as the Italian destination for Bangalore since it opened its door as part of Marriott, Whitefield. A specialty restaurant it has a trattoria charm perfect with wooden top tables and rustic elements all over. The place has recently got a new Italian Chef who has refreshed and revamped the menu afresh with his signature dishes. I was invited to taste the dishes curated by Chef Marou and I came back totally impressed. You must visit Alto Vino to specially taste the new menu, here is what I could lay my hands on.
We started with the antipasti Capprese Salad with Mozzarella Bocconcini and sweet pesto sauce, Strudell of Eggplant Parmigiana served in light spicy tomato sauce while my favorites were toasted Focaccia bread with fresh tomatoes, zucchini and mushrooms in veg and Chicken Liver served with Liver confit with potato & onion stew. The Italian spelt soup from Tuscany did wonders for a chilly Bangalore evening.
My main course included a slow cooked marinated Lamb Shang stew with red wine saffron risotto and winter vegetables, the lamb was cooked perfectly to my taste and went pretty well with the sides served along. The vegetarians were in awe of Risotto with Gorgonzola cheese & caramelized grapes. The Asparagus & Ricotta Ravioli with sage butter roasted pumpkin puree could probably do better on the pumpkin taste.
We ended the meal with a perfectly made Classic Tiramisu and Gratineted Zabaglione served with fresh Strawberries.
All in all a perfect Italian dinner, so if you have any cravings for a fine dining Italian, Alto Vino, Marriott, Whitefield is the place to be. Book a table before you go as the place fills up quickly in the evenings.
