Just a few years back, Whitefield used to be considered as out skirts of the city and there was nothing but a few IT offices in the area. But now the scene has changed. The area is bustling with malls, skyscrapers and a lot of development around. To make the most of the upcoming and posh market in the area City’s first microbrewery, The Biere club has launched a new venture in Whitefield which is just not about the drinks and food but an entire experience in itself. 153 Biere street is a venture which has entertainment option for everyone.
Cobbled streets, wrought iron furniture, old fashioned street lamps, just a step inside the one acre property and you are immediately transported to the quaint settings of the Europe. I was invited for the launch of the venture a few days back and was only happy to attend.
We were given a tour of the property as we reached. There are a few retail stores around the sitting area which offers various services, a flower shop, a DIY store for kids, a luxury men’s wear store and a dessert shop. An interior and home design is coming up soon. As I am a big fan of dessert, I started my evening with a slice of classic cheese cake which I felt was one of the best cheese cakes I have had in Bangalore. The jam tarts were good too and my little one gobbled a few and was on a sugar high throughout the evening 🙂 Although I felt that the variety offered in the store was very less and they can do a better job with it, the pricing of the store is worth a mention as everything on the menu is very genuinely priced. I mean who gets to eat a slice of cheese cake for under 100 INR 🙂
One of the best things I liked about the property is the huge open space in the center which is Ideal for organizing parties, events and carnivals. As it was the day of the launch, they had invited a few artists which made the evening even more interesting. Their were fire eaters, stilt walkers, musicians playing violin and dancers. Their are small kiosks on the side as well which sells various nick knacks and as usual I could not resist buying a little something for me as well. On a usual day, this space is perfect for your kids to run around while you sit on one of the many beautiful wrought iron benches watching them play while sipping on your beer.
After a few drinks, some nibbles and a good chat with friends, we headed to the Mustard cress, their European Continental Organic restaurant. The food served was simple yet very flavorful and the freshness of ingredients can be made out. Their is a wood fired pizza oven too and you can get a thin crust whole wheat pizza done in front of you.
Although I ate my dessert at the start, their is always space for some anytime. We asked the server to bring the signature dessert of the restaurant and it was a treat to eat too. Layers of chocolate and hazelnut mousse topped with crunchy roasted hazelnuts was perfect to end the delicious evening.
It was a nice evening spent with friends and family in a beautiful setting. Located just next to Forum value mall, 153 Biere street is already drawing a lot of guests each day and is soon going to be a favorite spot of many. The kiddo did a clay mural at the DIY store which we have to pick. That gives us another chance to visit the place soon :).
