    About This Recipe

Pancake is one of the most popular Breakfast dishes, which slowly and steadily has made its place all over the world. It is originally prepared using all-purpose flour or whole wheat flour with some other ingredients such as butter, milk, eggs, sugar, but here we are making a super healthy and gluten-free version of the same, which tastes as delicious as the original one.

Made with the combination of oats and mashed ripe bananas, these Pancakes are prepared very often at my home due to its impeccable taste and nutrition.

While ripe Bananas add a delicious sweet flavor in these pancakes, cinnamon takes it to another level. It not only adds to the taste but also gives it a beautiful aroma. The day you decide to make these Pancakes, believe me, the smell of these will make you hungry instantly.

Also, we are often on the lookout for healthy recipes, but also want to satisfy our taste buds and this Oats Banana Pancake is perfect for this situation.

Top it with honey, maple syrup, chocolate syrup, or fruits of your choice, I assure you this will be a new favorite at your home when it comes to breakfast.

I love them so much, that sometimes I even eat them for my Lunch or Dinner, and I think you will do the same. Just like my cornmeal porridge recipe, this breakfast recipe will also blow your mind.

    Ingredients

    Banana oatmeal pancakes Ingredients.

Banana – To make these pancakes, always opt for overripe bananas. They are very sweet and the texture of ripe bananas works the best.

Oats – You can use Instant Oats or Old Fashioned Oats to make this Pancake. You can even use oat flour instead of oats in this recipe.

Cinnamon – I love the flavor cinnamon powder adds in this recipe. The combination of cinnamon powder and banana is just pre magic.

Yogurt & Milk – These two ingredients make the Pancakes soft and fluffy. Use Greek yogurt and when it comes to milk, I have used Dairy Milk. You can use full fat, low fat, or even skim milk for these pancakes. For a dairy-free option, you can also use soy milk, almond milk, or any other plant-based milk.

Eggs – Eggs helps the pancakes to rise and hold the bubbles that form on the pancakes, giving it a perfect texture.

Honey – I have added honey for some extra sweetness. I chose honey for a healthy option, but you can add sugar, palm sugar, palm jaggery, or dark jaggery too. If you are fine with the sweetness from the bananas, you can even skip adding any sweetener in the batter.

Baking Powder – The addition of baking powder, makes the Pancake light and fluffy. Therefore, do not miss this one.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How to keep Pancakes warm between Batches?

To keep the Pancakes warm until the other gets ready, place the prepared pancakes on a baking sheet in a 200-degree preheated oven until you’re ready to serve them.

The temperature will keep them warm until the other gets ready, without cooking them further.

How to make these Pancakes vegan?

To make Vegan Pancakes, you will need,

    1 cup oats
2 Ripe Bananas, peeled and mashed
½ cup Almond Milk or any Plant-Based Milk
    1 teaspoon Baking Powder
    ¼ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
    ½ teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
    1-½ tablespoon Maple Syrup
    Olive Oil, as required

Add the oats in a grinder and make flour out of it. Take it out in a bowl and add the remaining ingredients except for olive oil. Mix everything well.

Once it is done, heat a little olive oil on the pan, pour the batter, and make your Pancakes. These pancakes will take a little more time to cook than the original ones.

You can even add ground flax seeds mixture in place of eggs if you do not mind the brown texture of the same in your pancakes.

    Is it Gluten Free?

Pure Oats are said to be gluten-free, but sometimes they are contaminated with gluten because they are processed in the same facilities as the grains which contain gluten. So there is a chance, they might be contaminated. You should always go for oats that are label gluten-free, to be safe.

How to make Chocolate Oatmeal Banana Pancakes?

To add a little goodness of Chocolate, fold in some semi-sweet chocolate chips in the pancake batter and then prepare the pancakes. Make sure you use good quality chocolate chips, for the best taste.

You can fold the chocolate chips in a little flour before adding so that they don’t sink in the batter while cooking the pancakes.

    Topping Suggestions

Keep it simple, and top it with just Honey or Maple Syrup.

You can also top it with Chocolate Syrup, Peanut Butter, Strawberry Compote, Caramel Sauce, or even Nutella. Load it with your favorite fruits such as Banana, Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries, Kiwi, Papaya, Apple, etc.

You can also sprinkle some Granola, Nuts and Seeds for that extra crunch.
