    Light and fluffy, this Banana Pecan Bread is a delectable Bread Loaf or you can also call it a cake because it’s super moist and sweet.

    It has a hint of cinnamon which gives it a beautiful flavor and also chopped pecans, which gives it an amazing crunch and texture.

    This is a great recipe, where you can also experiment with the ingredients, such as you can also add chocolate chips to it. If you want to make it more fruity, then you can use berries like blueberry, cranberry or apple in this Bread loaf.

    You can have this Bread on its own, or just slather it with Black Grapes Jam, Butter, Peanut Butter or Nutella. Sounds delicious, right?

    Ingredients

    All-Purpose Flour – The ingredient that is a must in all the Bread, All-Purpose Flour. If you are looking for a healthy alternative, you can even use whole wheat flour. But let me tell you that the texture and taste will be a bit different.

    Banana – Make sure you opt for a ripe banana, as it will give you the best sweet taste that is required in this bread. It is also a great way to use those overripe bananas at home.

    Pecans – They add a nice crunch in the bread. But if you don’t find them, you can even use walnuts or almonds instead.

    Spices – This particular bread uses a no of spices, such as cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, and clove powder, that adds to the flavor and also gives this bread a beautiful aroma. If you have a great homemade pumpkin pie spice, you can use it in place of all the other spices.

    Other Ingredients – You will need other basic ingredients too that is required to make a soft and moist bread. They are – baking powder, baking soda, granulated sugar, salt, olive oil, eggs, full-fat milk, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.

    Step by Step Recipe

    Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Grease a 9X5 inch loaf pan with oil and dust with flour. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.

    Mix all the wet ingredients in another bowl.

    Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well. Add the chopped pecans and mix.

    Pour the mixture in the prepared pan.

    Top with banana slices and some chopped pecans.

    Bake for 45-50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove the pan from the oven. Let the bread cool for 5 minutes. Remove the bread from the pan and cool on a wire rack until completely cooled. Cut into slices and serve with coffee or tea.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How to make Vegan Banana Pecan Bread?

    To make the vegan version of the same, you can use Almond Milk instead of Full fat Milk and Flax Seed Powder mixed with water in place of Eggs. Use 1 tablespoon flax seed powder mixed with 2 tablespoon water for every egg used in the recipe.

    You can also use applesauce instead of eggs. In this case, reduce the amount of sugar too.

    Can I use the same batter to make Muffins?

    Yes, definitely you can pour the same batter in the muffin tray and bake, to get super soft and moist muffins.

    How to quickly ripe bananas?

    If you do not have ripe bananas, here is a simple trick to quickly ripe banana.

    Just pop the banana with the peel on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for about 6-8 minutes, or until the banana skin is dark.

    Serving Suggestions

    You can serve a slice of this Banana Bread along with a hot cup of coffee or tea.

    You can also serve it as a dessert with your brunch, weekend meals, or even festive meals. 

    Storage Suggestions

    Store this bread in an airtight container, plastic wrap, or tin foil.

    This stays good at room temperature for about a day and for about 3-5 days in the refrigerator.

    You can easily freeze this bread.

    Either wrap the entire loaf in cling wrap and then slide it in a ziplock and freeze. Or if you want to freeze a portion of it, you can do that as well.

    When ready to eat, thaw the bread over the counter for a few hours. Microwave for a minute and serve warm.

    You can also keep it in a warm oven for a few minutes before serving.

    • 2 cups All purpose flour
