Strawberries are in season and a place called Mahabaleshwar near Pune grows some of the best strawberries in India.
I am lucky to be living in Pune now which is very close to Mahabaleshwar and so got to taste the best of fruit this season.
Apart from snacking on strawberries all day, they also made their way to many of my kitchen experiments and this best balsamic strawberry salsa recipe is one of it.
The 5 Minute Fresh Strawberry Butter is still rocking our morning breakfast and the Strawberry Basil Lemonade is the plan for the weekend (Splashed with a generous dose of Vodka of course )
What are the health benefits of Strawberries?
Nitrate found in strawberries helps in blood and oxygen flow and hence helps in weight loss.
Strawberries are loaded with biotin which helps in building stronger nails and hair.
They also have lots of antioxidants, which helps in keeping the young for a longer time.
These contain potassium, magnesium, and vitamin K which are essential for bone health.
Strawberries reduce the risk of heart disease.
Process
The recipe I am sharing today is the Best Balsamic Strawberry Salsa Recipe ever and making it is fairly simple.
All you need is some basic ingredients and 5 minutes to make a batch.
To start making this salsa, chop the strawberries in small pieces, chop red onion and cilantro and Jalapeno too.
I used some small green chillies which were handy to me but they were a tad spicy.
You can also add some chopped bell pepper which I skipped as son is not a big fan of raw bell peppers.
Toss everything in a large bowl. Add a splash of balsamic vinegar, honey, lime juice, salt and pepper, and cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
I sometimes like to mash the salsa using a potato masher until everything comes together.
Your Strawberry Jalapeno Salsa is ready to serve. You can also make some variations like strawberry avocado salsa or strawberry-mango salsa.
Storage Suggestions
This salsa tastes best when made fresh.
I would not suggest freezing it for later use.
The strawberries go mushy and the vinegar becomes rancid, so avoid freezing it and make fresh batch always.
However, refrigerating the salsa for 30 minutes prior to serving is highly recommended.
Serving Suggestions
Serve this salsa with tortilla chips or nachos. Strawberry salsa with cinnamon chips is my favorite though 🙂

This is delicious! I made it for work today. All the picky men were leery of “strawberry salsa,” but then couldn’t stop eating it. Such a perfect blend of spicy and sweet.
