Cattle fair at Pushkar is an annual fanfare where local shepherds showcase their cattle (camels, horses, cows & buffaloes and more). The festival has a fixed schedule which you must look over before planning a trip. The festival begins at the onset of winters in the month of October/November. Events like camel decoration, camel dance, horse dance, races, mustache competition are on the agenda. This year I could take some shots on the camel decoration and dance competition. It was a totally different experience being a part of this fare and is a must do for every one looking for Indian traditions.
Enthusiasm from shepherds was at its best while they herded their camels decorated in garlands, flowers, colored ropes, bells and showcase their talent. The experience to see the camels dance to the “dhol” was very unique. Have a look on at my photo blog for the shots.
