Have you ever thought of giving your regular masala chai a royal touch? If not, try this **Amritsari badam pista tea (chai). **It's said that this tea was made for the royal families of Punjab.

This** ****dried-nut tea** is your everyday masala chai, with the goodness of almonds and pistachios.*** ***

It gained fame at** the Giani tea stall in Amritsar**, where people line up for a hot cup of badam pista chai in the morning. The masala chai is topped with frothy milk and crushed nuts, adding a royal touch and a distinct, unique flavor.

The tea's milk-to-water ratio is higher than that of water alone, making it nice and creamy and giving it a rich texture. You can adjust the milk-to-water ratio to your taste.

It is a perfect hot beverage to serve to your guests during festivals or on special occasions when you want to** offer something extra ****special**. Your guests will be impressed with this unique way of serving tea.

## Ingredients

*See the recipe card below this post for ingredient quantities and full instructions.*

### For The Tea

To make the tea, you will need the following ingredients: water, milk, sugar, black tea leaves, and chai masala powder.

I like using whole milk (full-fat milk) to make this tea recipe. You can use skim or low-fat milk, or vegan alternatives such as almond or soy milk.

You can use a store-bought chai masala powder or make it at home. Here is a recipe for homemade [chai ka masala](https://www.whiskaffair.com/best-homemade-chai-masala-recipe-tea/).

### For The Froth

To make the froth, you will need whole milk (full-fat milk).

### For The Topping

Top the frothy tea with almonds (badam), pistachios (pista), and whole green cardamom (hari elaichi).

## How To Make Badam Pista Tea

### Make The Tea

**Step 1:** Add 1/2 cup water, 1 1/2 cups whole milk, and 1 tsp chai masala powder to a small pot, then bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
