Ingredients

Cherry Tomatoes – Always choose cherry tomatoes that are red and a little firm. Do not choose the tomatoes with green patches as they are not ripe and also not sweet.
Mozzarella Cheese – Soft Mozzarella balls are skewed along with tomatoes and basil. This one has a super soft and moist texture that has a lot of milky flavors. Go for mini balls.
Basil – Basil adds a refreshing taste along with a beautiful aroma to these Skewers. Always use fresh basil leaves and avoid using the wilted ones for these skewers.
Balsamic Reduction – Making balsamic reduction at home is super easy! Just add Balsamic Vinegar in the pan and cook until it thickens. It will just take 5 to 6 minutes. It adds a nice tangy vinegar touch with a hint of sweetness.
Salt and Pepper – To subtly flavour it more, sprinkle a little salt and pepper on top.
You can also use extra virgin olive oil instead of balsamic vinegar on these Mozzarella Caprese Skewers, but the taste will differ a bit.
Step By Step Recipe
Thread tomato, basil leaf and mozzarella ball on small skewers.

Yes, you can make these Mini Caprese Skewers ahead of time and refrigerate it for a few hours in an airtight container. Just do not add balsamic reduction yet.

Apart from Cherry Tomatoes, Mozzarella Cheese, and Basil Leaves, you can also add in Black Olives, Green Olives, Peaches, Strawberries, Salami, Melons, Cucumber, Prosciutto, Blackberry, Watermelon, etc. All of these tastes great with the balsamic drizzle.
You can also add grilled fruits such as Peach, Melon, etc for an added taste. So experiment with other ingredients too and if you do, don’t forget to share it with me
To make a balsamic reduction or balsamic glaze, you will need 2 cups of Balsamic Vinegar and ½ cup Brown Sugar.
Add balsamic vinegar and sugar in a pan. Heat over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
Simmer the heat to medium-low and cook until the mixture is reduced to half and starts to coat the back of the spoon. It will take 15-20 minutes for the mixture to cook to the right consistency.
Keep stirring at regular intervals while cooking. Remove the pan from heat and let the glaze cool down. Store in a glass jar and use as required.
