Ingredients

Shrimps – This delicious dish can be made with fresh or frozen medium-sized shrimp. If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely.

Butter – Use salted or unsalted butter.

Lemon – Use freshly squeezed lemon juice. You can replace it with lime juice as well.

Garlic – There is no such thing as too much garlic. You will need a lot of it to make this recipe.

Red Pepper Flakes – Adjust as per your taste.

Others – You will also need extra virgin olive oil, cornstarch, fresh parsley, caper brine, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper.

Step By Step Recipe

Rinse the shrimp and pat them dry using paper tissues.

Heat a pan over high heat and add olive oil to it.

When the oil starts to smoke, arrange the shrimp on the oan on a single layer and let them sizzle for a minute.

Add fresh parsley, brine from capers, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, and cook for 2 minutes.

Now, add the butter, cornstarch slurry, and lemon juice and cook for 2 minutes.

It is important to cook shrimp perfectly, as it is easy to overcook them if you are not careful.

Shrimps will have a pink exterior when perfectly cooked. Shrimps should be slightly opaque and white in color.

Depending on the size of the shrimp you bought, it should take 5-7 minutes to cook them. Once done, they should be pink in color.

  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 20-25 Medium Shrimp (Cleaned and Deveined)
  • 3 tablespoon Garlic (Finely Chopped)
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh Parsley (Finely Chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Brine from capers
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Flakes
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • ½ teaspoon Cornstarch (Dissolved in 1 teaspoon water)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice

Instructions 

  • Heat a pan and add olive oil in it.
  • When the oil just starts to smoke, add the shrimps and let them sizzle for a minute.
  • Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Add fresh parsley, brine from capers, salt, pepper and red chilli flakes and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Now add the butter, cornstarch slurry and lemon juice and cook until butter melts and prawns are cooked well.
  • Mix lemon juice and garnish with more fresh parsley.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

If garlic greens are in season, add them for added flavour. Chop them fine before adding.
Do not over cook the prawns other they will become chewy.
