    Frequently Asked Questions

    Green Peanuts V/S Raw Peanuts

Green Peanuts doesn’t mean they are green in colour. It means that they are freshly harvested and has more water content and moisture. Green Peanuts, therefore must be refrigerated to keep them fresh.

On the other hand, Raw Peanuts are air dried to lower down the water content and moisture. Therefore, they can be easily stored in containers for a longer time.

Do you eat them hot or cold?

I like to eat it just out of the pot, hot! But be careful, because they are steaming hot, when you remove the shell. It tastes even great at room temperature or even cold.

How do you eat Boiled Peanuts?

You can have Peanuts as it is or can spice them up with various herbs and seasonings.

I also like to make a Chaat with the room temperature Peanuts by adding finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, salt, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, lemon juice and chaat masala powder. Mix it, garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and enjoy.

    Can we use Raw Peanuts?

Yes, but soak them overnight or for minimum of 5 to 6 hours before boiling them in salty water.

    Seasoning Options

Cajun Spiced – Add in Cajun seasoning, salt, crushed red pepper and garlic powder in the water while boiling.

Chilli Pepper – Add in a hot sauce, kosher salt and habanero peppers in the water along with Peanuts and then boil the same.

Garlic & Onion – Add butter and when it melts adds in onions and garlic. Cook them till the onions becomes soft. Now add in peanuts, salt and boil.

    Storage Suggestions

Boiled Green Peanuts stays good at room temperature for about 24 hours. After that, store them in an air tight container or ziplock bag and refrigerate for about 7 days.
