Stacked Mangoes ready for making Recipes with Mango including Drinks, Snacks, Main Course, Desserts and Salads

Every year, I wait for the Mango season to start and this year is no different. I love to relish them raw and ripe and also make sweet and savory recipes using Mangoes. Mango is so versatile fruit that it can be used raw or ripe to make so many different Salads, Shakes, Desserts and even Curries.

All across the world there are more than 400 Mango varieties available, In India alone we get some of the most famous ones including Dusseheri, Alphonso, Mallika, Banganapalli, Chausa, Langda and many more.

Each of these varieties are grown in a different region and follows different harvesting months ranging from late March to early September. With summers setting in, you can relish Mangoes in many forms. So take your pick amongst these Mango dishes and relish the king of fruits.

What is the best way to eat a Mango?

This is a question, once I asked my grandma. The easiest answer she gave was, there is no one best way, it is the way you like it.

I still love to squeeze it up to relish the pulp and juice together and sometimes cut it to be devoured. My son loves the shakes while salads are common on our dinner table in summers.

Try raw mangoes with a sprinkle of red chilli powder & salt and ripe mangoes cut into cubes or topped over scoops of ice cream or cream.

Since the fresh Mangoes season lasts only a few months, don’t forget to relish these sweet and savory mango recipes.

    What to make with Mangoes?

I bake with Mangoes, make drinks to sip on hot summer days, pickle them, do a variety of dips & chutney’s, make salads and even add them in curries to give a nice sweet and tangy taste.

It also depends on whether you are looking to make Raw Mango Recipes or Ripe Mango Recipes. Raw generally goes well to pickle, in curries, or to make tangy aam panna. Ripe mangoes are used in shakes, curries, and a variety of Mango desserts.

There are also many vegan recipes you can make with Mangoes. I’ve here a number of ideas on homemade Mango recipes for you to choose from.

You can make healthy recipes using Mangoes like salads and smoothies too. So go ahead and try some of my best mango recipes.
