To make this refreshing summer treat, I’m using about two cups of peaches. You could go for fresh peaches, if they are available in the market. If you can’t get hold of fresh peaches, don’t worry, frozen or canned peaches do a brilliant job too.
The peaches are mixed in a blender with instant oats, frozen banana, low fat milk, low fat yoghurt and honey until smooth and luscious. The smoothie is then transferred to a serving bowl and decorated with fresh or frozen blueberries, banana slices, peach slices, some granola, mint for a fresh touch and some edible flowers.
The smoothie tends to retain its maximum nutrient content if it’s served immediately after blending. You can put your creative side to work by making the smoothie look absolutely delicious.
This smoothie is just the perfect drink to sip on a hot summer day, it’s also a brilliant breakfast bowl as it instantly brightens up your whole day. The addition of banana in this smoothie gives it a nice creamy consistency, without overpowering the flavour of sweet peaches.
This would be just the perfect bowl to have after a workout, or even pre-workout as it helps to retain energy for longer.
