Planning a cocktail party for your friends? Looking out for an interesting starter to prepare your guests for the indulgent meal ahead?

Whip up this delicious cottage cheese snack in a jiffy.

Made with the goodness of paneer or cottage cheese, encrusted in a beautiful layer of sesame seeds that give this sesame grilled paneer a sensational texture and slight crunch.

Let me warn you, this grilled paneer dish can be rather addictive.

This sesame grilled paneer even with its vegetarian roots are sure to be a hit among vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.

It’s not too high on the spice quotient either, making it a perfect option to make at a kids party as well.

First, a light marinade is made using vegetable oil, some freshly squeezed lemon juice, dried oregano, dried basil, salt and red chilli flakes.

The cubes of paneer are allowed to marinate in this mix for a few minutes before it’s grilled.

One thing that I love about paneer is how beautifully it soaks up all the flavours of the marinade in a short span of time while maintaining a creamy soft centre.

Once marinated, the soft triangular cubes are coated with a layer of crunchy sesame seeds or til as it’s popularly known in India.

The paneer triangles are then put on a grill and allowed to grill till perfectly brown.

Since this paneer recipe uses very little oil, spices and the fact that it’s grilled instead of fried makes it the perfect healthy snack to gorge on at every occasion.

You could skewer up the paneer triangles and use an oven set in the grill mode as well.

This Sesame paneer dish is quite different from your regular paneer tikka and makes for a light snack, without making you feel heavy.

So what are you waiting for, prepare this sesame paneer dish and wait for it to work its magic?
