Something very common but exceptionally useful, Simple Syrup is a saviour many times.

Be it lemonades, cocktails, mocktails, mojitos or any other drink, it is essentially present but the simple syrup ratio is what makes it a challenging recipe to make.

Name a drink and you have sugar syrup in it.

It is commonly available in a number of regular stores, but preparing your own at home is far more economical and fun too.

All you need is a lot of sugar and some water.

Of course, patience would be welcome and using this ratio, you can make it in no time!

Readily dissolved, it makes the task of mixing sugar easier and provides a viscous consistency to the liquid.

It does not just save you from the tedious job of stirring sugar in the drink but also adds some great flavor to it.

If you ask me, I say, it is a quintessential ingredient in every kitchen.

You can make a big batch of it and store it in a  glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 15 days.

You can also flavor your syrup with herbs like rosemary, spices, and fruits.

So why not get the apron out and get cooking?

Follow the steps below and keep a bottle ready for so entertaining guests in summer becomes that much easier.

After you are ready with your bottle of syrup, try out these Virgin Pineapple Mojito, Ginger and Curry Leaves Martini and Cucumber Mint Cooler recipes with it.

How long can you keep it in refrigerator?

It can be easily kept for a month in the refrigerator.

You can make a big batch and keep using it as and when required.

Since it is only sugar cooked in water, it generally doesn’t spoil for a long time.
