Thayir Aval is an easy recipe made from poha and buttermilk. On days when I run out of breakfast options, this quick recipe of Thayir Aval helps me to prepare a scrumptious breakfast for my family.
These days, because of onset of Summer, I observe that we feel hot even during the mornings. Hence, I thought of using some natural ingredients which help us to beat the heat and craft a recipe using it.
Thayir Aval is one such recipe that is perfect for this Summer. Prepared using buttermilk, poha and mild ingredients, Thayir Aval is both scrumptious and nutritious.
I have used a generous portion of buttermilk for making Thayir Aval. My mom had told me once that buttermilk helps in soothing our stomach after a spicy meal. Buttermilk even removes fats that stick to our food pipe or stomach, it improves our digestive process and stops belching.
I get dehydrated very easily during Summer, however, on my Mom’s recommendation I started using more buttermilk in my recipes and I found that I started remaining hydrated. Some of my friends are lactose intolerant, so they cannot get calcium through the medium of milk, however, when they drink buttermilk, they receive some calcium.
Buttermilk even protects us from vitamin deficiency and restricts our cholesterol levels. So, for Thayir Aval as we have used buttermilk, let me tell you that you are surely going to reap its nutritional benefits.
Along with buttermilk and poha, I have taken ingredients such as curry leaves, various types of dals, coconut which wholly enhance the flavor of this recipe. The subtle taste of Thayir Aval literally enthralls senses.
Makes sure to try this wholesome recipe this Summer. I recently created a list of all of my favorite coolers for the Summer, do make them as well. Now, quickly read this recipe for Thayir Aval and tweet me your feedback for the same at your earliest!
