Heat over medium-high heat until it comes to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low.
Add boba pearls to the pan and cook for 15 minutes.
Switch off the heat and add honey to the pan and stir well.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the pearls soak in for 30 minutes.
Prepare The Matcha Tea
Add matcha green tea, sugar, and water to a blender and blend until everything comes together.
Assemble The Tea
Take out the boba pearls from the syrup using a slotted spoon and divide them between the two glasses.
Add a few ice cubes to each glass.
Top the glasses with 1 cup of milk.
Now pour the green tea mixture over the milk and stir well.
Serve immediately along with a large boba tea straw. These straws assist you in sucking up the tapioca balls from the bottom of your drink. Sip them through the straw and then chew them in your mouth before swallowing them with your drink.
This tea cannot be assembled in advance. However, you can cook the boba pearls, prepare the green tea, and refrigerate them for up to a day. Then assemble it just before serving.The matcha green tea doesn't mix with the liquid very quickly. Hence blending it in a blender with water makes the process more accessible, and you get a smooth tea paste.You can use the leftover syrup to make cocktails or mocktails.If you like more boba pearls in your tea, feel free to increase the quantity.I used regular dairy milk to make this drink, but you can use plant-based milk, such as almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, etc., to make it vegan.
