Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 500 g Red onion Thinly sliced
  • 5-6 cloves Garlic Grated
  • Salt To taste
  • 1 tsp Freshly ground black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilli flakes
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 cup Apple juice
  • 1/4 cup Red wine vinegar

Instructions

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a pan.

  2. Add onion and garlic and cook for a minute.

  3. Add salt, black pepper, chilli flakes and brown sugar.

  4. Cover the pan and cook for 40-50 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.

  5. Add apple juice and red wine vinegar and cover and cook for another 40-50 minutes.

  6. Remove the lid and cook on high heat for 3-4 minutes until the liquid is reduced.

  7. Remove the pan from heat and let the marmalade cool.

  8. Store in a clean jar in refrigerator for up to 1 month.

Recipe Notes

You can add some red wine for added flavour.
