Ingredients

  • 400 g Medium sized prawns
  • 1/2 Egg
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp Maida
  • 2 tbsp Cornflour
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • Vegetable oil For frying
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 cup Onion Finely chopped
  • 2 tsp Garlic Finely chopped
  • 2 tsp Ginger Finely chopped
  • 1 cup Capsicum Cubed
  • 5-6 Green chillies Slit into half
  • 1 Chicken Stock cube
  • 2 tsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tsp Red chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Spring Onion greens Chopped
  • 2-3 Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Wash and clean the prawns and tap them dry using a kitchen towel.
  2. Add prawns in a bowl along with egg, salt, black pepper powder, maida, cornflour and 1 tsp soy sauce.
  3. Let the prawns marinate for 10 minutes.
  4. Heat oil for frying in a pan.
  5. When the oil is hot, add the prawns and fry until nicely browned.
  6. Drain and keep aside.
  7. Heat ghee in a wok.
  8. Add onion, ginger and garlic and fry on high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Add capsicum and green chillies and fry for another minute.
  10. Crumble the chicken stock cube.
  11. Add soy sauce, red chilli sauce and vinegar along with 1/2 cup of water and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  12. Add the prawns and toss them in the masala.
  13. Garnish with spring onion greens.
  14. Keep the lemon wedges on the side.
  15. Serve immediately.
