Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 250 g Raw Tomato Cut into big chunks
  • 50 g Green chilli
  • 15-20 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Skinless Roasted peanuts
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp Tamarind paste

For the tadka

  • 2 tsp Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Chana Dal
  • 1 tsp Urad Dal
  • 10-12 Curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add tomato and green chilli and cook for 8-10 minutes until tomatoes are charred and nicely cooked.
  3. Transfer the tomatoes and chillies in the jar of a blender.
  4. Add garlic, peanuts, salt and tamarind paste and grind to make a smooth chutney.
  5. Add little water if required.
  6. For the tadka, heat 2 tsp oil in a small pan.
  7. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal and curry leaves and let the dal turn brown.

  8. Pour the tadka over the chutney.
  9. Serve with rice and curd.
