Tamatar Murgh  or Tomato Chicken Curry is a delicious Chicken curry recipe which goes very well with roti or rice. It has a slightly tangy flavour from tomatoes.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 3 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 3 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 kg Chicken Curry cut
  • 3-4 Green chilli Slit into half
  • 2 cups Tomato Blanched, peeled and chopped roughly
  • 1/2 cup Golden fried onions Crushed
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 2 tbsp Fresh coriander Chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee and oil in a heavy bottom pan.
  2. Once the oil is hot add ginger and garlic and fry for a minute.

  3. Add cumin seeds, cloves and black peppercorns and fry for a few seconds.

  4. Add chicken and fry on high heat for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Now add green chilli, tomato and onion.

  6. Add red chilli powder and salt and cover and cook until chicken is done.
  7. Add garam masala powder and fresh coriander.
  8. Serve hot with phulke or rice.
