Punjabi Dahi Aloo Recipe I Dahi Wale Aloo Recipe is a simple potato curry made in a yogurt based gravy. This is eaten mostly during pooja days or otherwise with poories and parathas.

Ingredients

  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Hing - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Grated ginger - 1 tsp
  • Green chilli - 2 Slit into halves
  • Potatoes - 300 g boiled, peeled and coarsely mashed with fingers
  • Fresh curd - 1 cup Whisked with 1 tsp maida, skip maida id making for vrat
  • Sendha namak to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan.
  2. When the ghee is hot, add hing and cumin seeds and let them crackle for a few seconds.
  3. Add grated ginger and green chilies and fry for a few seconds.
  4. Add boiled potatoes and fry on high heat for a minutes.
  5. Simmer the heat and add whisked curd and a cup of water and cook till curry comes to a boil.
  6. Keep stirring continuously to avoid curd separating.
  7. Cover and cook for 2-3 more minutes.
  8. Add sendha namak and cook for another minute.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
