Ingredients

  • For the dough
  • All purpose flour - 2 cups
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Baking soda - 2 small pinch
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • For the filling
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Garlic - 6-7 cloves chopped
  • Onion - 1/4 cup finely chopped
  • Cabbage - 1/2 cup finely chopped
  • Capsicum - 1/4 cup finely chopped
  • Carrot - 1/4 cup finely chopped
  • Spring onion - 1/4 cup chopped
  • Vinegar - 1 tsp
  • Red chili sauce - 1 tsp
  • Soya sauce - 1 tsp
  • Tomato ketchup - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Chicken mince - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. For the dough
  2. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Knead a soft dough using water.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  5. For the filling
  6. Heat oil in a pan.
  7. Add garlic and cook till slightly browned.

  8. Then, add the vegetables and cook for a minute.

  9. Later, add the sauces and salt and cook for a minute.

  10. Lastly, add chicken mince and cook till chicken is done.

  11. Make small balls from the dough.
  12. Roll each ball to make a thin circle. ( Roll it very thin )
  13. Place little filling in the center of the circle and bring the edges together.
  14. Twist a little and press the ends together.
  15. Make all the momos in the same way.
  16. Steam the momos for 15-20 minutes in a steamer.
  17. Serve hot with hot and sweet dipping sauce.
  18. You can replace the chicken with mix vegetables and make vegetarian momos.
