Ingredients

  • Water - 1/2 cup
  • 1 tsp Beetroot Cubed
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2-3 Clove
  • 1-2 Cardamom
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 1 Black Cardamom
  • 1 cup Pearl onions Peeled and washed
  • 1 cup White vinegar
  • 2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Heat water in a pan.

  2. Add beetroot, sugar, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and black cardamom in the water and let it boil for a minute.

  3. Strain the water.

  4. Add the onions in a jar.

  5. Pour the water over the onions.

  6. Top with vinegar and salt.

  7. Cover the jar and keep it in the refrigerator.

  8. Use the onions after 24 hours.

  9. It can be stored for up to 10 days in refrigerator.

Recipe Notes

The vinegar mixture can be used again to pickle the onions.

Just add more onions after the previous ones are finished.
