Ingredients

  • 1 cup Red Lentils / Dhuli Masoor Dal
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic Chopped
  • 1 cup Onion Chopped
  • 2 Jalapeno¬†Peppers Chopped
  • 1/2 cup Carrots Chopped
  • 1/2 cup Peas
  • 1/2 cup Tomato Puree
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder optional
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 cup Coconut milk

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large heavy bottom pan.

  2. Add garlic and fry till light brown in color.

  3. Add onions and pepper and fry for a minute.

  4. Now add carrots, peas, lentils, tomato puree, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.

  5. Next. add 6 cups of water and cover and cook till lentils are soft and tender.

  6. Lastly, add coconut milk and lemon juice.

  7. Serve hot with some bread.

Recipe Notes

you may also add some pumpkin, roasted red pepper, chicken broth, carrot, celery etc to it.
