Ingredients

  • Medium thin poha - 4 cups
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Green chilies - 5-6 slit into halves
  • Peanuts - 1/2 cup
  • Hing - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 25-30
  • Sesame seeds - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Citric acid - 1/4 tsp
  • Powdered sugar - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Grind salt with citric acid to make a fine powder.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add green chilies.
  4. Fry till chilies are crispy.
  5. Add peanuts and fry for a minute.
  6. Add heeng, curry leaves and fry for 30 seconds.
  7. Add sesame seeds and fry for a minute.
  8. Add poha, salt and citric acid, powdered sugar, turmeric powder and red chili powder.
  9. Simmer the heat to low.
  10. Fry for 25-30 minutes till poha is crispy.
  11. Remove from heat.
  12. Cool.
  13. Store in an airtight container.
