Chocolate Banana Bread with Hazelnuts

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter - 115 g
  • Granulated sugar - 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
  • Eggs  - 3
  • Mashed banana - 1 cup approx 4 big bananas
  • Milk - 1/4 cup
  • Lemon juice - 2-3 drops
  • All purpose flour - 2 cups
  • Cocoa powder -1/4 cup
  • Baking soda - 1 tsp
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
  • Hazelnuts - 1/2 cup Roasted and skin removed and chopped

Instructions

  1. Pre heat the oven to 180 degree C.
  2. Grease a bread loaf pan.
  3. Add lemon juice in milk and keep it aside. In 3-4 minutes it will turn into buttermilk.
  4. Add all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and cinnamon powder in a bowl.
  5. Beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
  6. Add vanilla extract and mix.
  7. Add egg one at a time and beat till nicely combined.
  8. Add the mashed banana and mix well.
  9. Add buttermilk and mix.
  10. Add the dry ingredients and mix just till combined.
  11. Do not over mix at this stage.
  12. Fold in the hazelnuts.
  13. Pour the batter in the prepared pan.
  14. Bake for 60-65 minutes, till a knife comes out clean.
  15. Remove the pan from the oven.
  16. Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes.
  17. Remove the loaf from the pan and cool on a wire rack
