Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cup Onion Thinly Sliced
  • 1 cup Capsicum Thinly Sliced
  • 2 tsp Garlic Chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 2 Green Cardamom
  • 1 cup Onion Paste
  • 1 cup Tomato Grated
  • 1/4 cup Tomato Puree
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 2 Green Chilli Slit into half
  • 1 tsp Ginger Chopped
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
  • 400 g Paneer
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 2 tbsp Kasuri Methi
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Coriander

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a pan.

  2. Add sliced onion, capsicum and garlic and fry until onion turns translucent.

  3. Remove the onion and capsicum on a plate and keep aside.

  4. Heat the remaining 3 tbsp oil in the same pan.

  5. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon and cardamom and fry for a few seconds.

  6. Add onion paste and fry until it turns slightly brown.

  7. Now add tomato, tomato puree and tomato ketchup and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  8. Add green chilli and ginger and cook for another 2 minutes.

  9. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and cook until oil starts to separate from the sides.

  10. Now add little water if the masala is too dry.

  11. Add the cooked onion and capsicum, paneer , salt and garam masala and mix well.

  12. Add kauri methi, lemon juice and fresh coriander and mix well.

  13. Serve hot.

Recipe Notes

Use store bought puree in this recipe.

You can add other vegetables along with paneer.
