Make super easy, healthy, and low carb 0 Minute Instant Pot Steamed Broccoli with perfect texture every time. This method is hands-free, has no monitoring, and retains all the nutrients.
Rinse the broccoli head with water and cut it into equal-size large florets. If the florets are too small, they will become mushy.
Add broccoli and cold water to the Instant Pot and close the lid of the pot.
Set the valve to the sealing position. Press PRESSURE COOK and set the timer to zero minutes at HIGH PRESSURE.
It will take 10-12 minutes for the pressure to build up and the timer to start. Once the timer goes off, release the pressure manually immediately by moving the valve to the venting position. Use a large spoon to move the value. If you do not release the pressure immediately, the broccoli will get extra cooked and will become mushy. Once the pressure is released, open the lid.
Drain the broccoli in a colander to discard any leftover water. Season the broccoli with salt, pepper, extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice and serve warm.
Notes
Release the pressure immediately once the timer goes off to avoid overcooking.Every Instant Pot is different and you might have to change the settings accordingly. If your broccoli is getting overcooked even at 0 Minute setting, then next time try to cook it at LOW PRESSURE instead of HIGH PRESSURE.This recipe can be doubled or tripled. The cook time remains the same but use a bigger pot to cook. I used my 6-quart instant pot for 1 lb broccoli.
