Made using 4 ingredients in 15 minutes, Dunkaroo dip is a simple and quick dessert dip that will definitely remind you of childhood if you are a 90's kid. Here is how to make it.
Start by heat-treating the cake flour. This step is very important to make sure that the mixture is free of pathogens.
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Spread the cake flour on a baking tray with tall sides and spread it evenly.
Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes, stirring the flour after every 2 minutes. The temperature of the flour must reach 160-165 degrees F.
Remove the tray from the oven and let the flour cool down completely.
Note – You can also heat treat the flour in a microwave. Heat on high in increments of 30 seconds until the flour temperature reaches 160-165 degrees F.
Once the flour is cooled completely, add it to a large mixing bowl along with 1 cup Greek yogurt, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 2 cups cool whip. Mix well using a silicone spatula. You can also use your electric mixer to mix the ingredients.
Transfer the dip to the serving bowl. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Garnish with colorful sprinkles and serve with animal crackers, graham crackers, etc.
Notes
To make a chocolate version, you can use a chocolate cake mix and some chocolate syrup while mixing. If you are using vanilla-flavored Greek yogurt, you can skip adding vanilla extract. You can use any whipped cream in place of cool whip.Want to add a boozy twist to the same? Then add in a little of your favorite white rum and give it a mix.You can use softened cream cheese instead if you want to make it without yogurt. You can also add in a little milk to adjust the consistency of the dip.You can decorate Dunkaroo dip with holiday or party-themed sprinkles. For valentine’s day, use red or pink funfetti, for Halloween, use black and orange, and for Christmas, red white, and green.
