Learn how to make Authentic Thai Style Iced Tea from scratch using this simple recipe. The resulting tea is refreshing, creamy, and packed with traditional flavors.
Add water, cardamom, and cinnamon to a pan and boil over medium-high heat.
Once the water comes to a boil, switch off the heat.
Add the tea leaves and sugar and steep for 5 minutes.
Strain the tea in a measuring cup using a tea strainer. Let the tea cool down for 10 minutes.
Add 7-8 ice cubes each into two tall serving glasses.
Pour the tea over ice until the glasses are ¾th full.
Add 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk to each glass.
Stir well using a stirrer and serve.
Notes
If Thai tea mix is unavailable, use any black tea. You can add a few drops of vanilla extract and one-star anise to make the taste closer to the real deal, and the color will not affect the taste.
