Make this quick and easy Instant Pot Sticky Rice in under30 minutes with just 2 ingredients. Once you make the sticky rice in the instant pot, you will never go back to the traditional bamboo steamer method.
Rinse rice with water 2-3 times until the water runs clear.
Drain the water well and add the rice to the inner pot of the instant pot.
Add water to the pot and stir gently.
Note – You can replace water with an equal amount of vegetable or chicken broth.
Close the lid of the pot and set the valve to the sealing position.
Press PRESSURE COOK and set the timer to 10 min on high pressure. It will take 10-12 minutes for the pressure to build inside the pot and the timer to start.
Once the timer goes off, let the pressure release naturally for 10 mins. Release the remaining pressure manually by moving the valve to the venting position. Use the back of a spoon to move the valve to avoid steam burn.
Once the pressure is released, open the lid of the pot and fluff the rice gently using a fork.
Serve warm.
