Turmeric Ginger Tea is a 5-ingredient herbal beverage that is very soothing to sip on. It gets ready in under 10 minutes and perks you up quickly. Here is how to make it. Drink it hot or chilled.
Add water to a medium-size saucepan and bring it to a boil over high heat.
Once the water comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low.
Add grated ginger, whole cinnamon stick, and ground turmeric and simmer for 5 minutes.
Switch off the heat and remove the saucepan from heat.
Add lemon juice and stir well. Add honey if you wish to.
You can add a teaspoon of ghee or any other fat at this stage for the better absorption of curcumin (the bright yellow chemical in turmeric) by the body.
Strain the tea into 2 teacups using a tea strainer.
Serve hot.

Notes
If fresh ginger is not available, then add ½ teaspoon of ground ginger in its place.Add a pinch of crushed black pepperor cayenne. It is said that black pepper enhances the absorption of turmeric.Adding a little oil, such as coconut oil, avocado oil, ghee, or grass-fed butter, also improves curcumin absorption. You can also add green tea bags (or loose green tea leaves) or black tea bags while making this tea.Turmeric leaves stains on everything that it comes in contact with. So use an old chopping board and a pot to make the tea.Wearing gloves will also prevent your fingers from staining.
