Ingredients
For The Garlic Butter

tablespoons
salted butter
softened

teaspoons
minced garlic
½
teaspoon
dried oregano
¼

dried basil
¼

salt

black pepper powder
For The Lava Toast
4
large bread slices
white or brown
2
slices
cheddar cheese
½
cup
pizza sauce
1
cup
shredded mozzarella cheese
choice of pizza toppings
I used mini pepperoni, sliced mushrooms, cubed bell peppers, sliced black olives
red pepper flakes and dried oregano
as required for topping

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Make Garlic Butter
In a small bowl, mix butter, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper powder until well combined. Set aside.
Prepare The Toast
Lay bread slices on a baking sheet.
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice.
Keep the baking tray in the middle rack of the oven and toast the bread slices for about 5 minutes, or until they are lightly browned.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven.
Flip

bread slices over so that the toasted side is facing up.
Keep a slice of cheddar cheese on top of

bread slices.
Top with the remaining bread slices, butter side down.
Press the center of the bread to make an indentation.
Spread pizza sauce in the indentation.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce, covering the bread slices.
Top with the toppings.
Bake The Toast
Place the baking sheet back into the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Once the cheese has melted, switch the oven to broil and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is golden and slightly crispy.
Remove the Pizza Toast from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Sprinkle some red pepper flakes and dried oregano on top.
Cut each slice into halves or quarters and serve warm.
