    Ingredients

    Baked Peaches Ingredients.

Peaches – Make sure you get ripe peaches, as they are sweet and taste best when used in the desserts.

Sugar – You can use either normal sugar or even brown sugar to sprinkle on the peaches. Sugar adds a nice caramelization, making them taste even better.

Cinnamon Powder – This does all the magic! The beautiful taste and aroma of cinnamon powder on the soft and tender peaches are just heavenly.

Butter – A small cube of butter is added on the top so that it melts and caramelizes the sugar well. You can use salted butter too if you like that hint of salty.

    How to make Baked Peaches?

Start by choosing the right peaches to make this dessert. The peaches should be vibrant in color with healthy skin free of any blemishes. Prefer getting freestone (cling-free) peaches to clingstone peaches as the pit is easy to remove in freestone peaches.

To check if the peaches are perfectly ripe and juicy, press them gently. They should give a little. Do not press too hard otherwise they will get bruised from inside. Ripe peaches should also smell fragrant and peachy.

Preheat the oven to 375 Degrees F. Slice the peaches in half using a paring knife and remove the pit. No need to peel the skin.

    Peaches cut into half.

    Discard the pit.

    Pit removed.

Arrange the halves on a baking tray with the cut side up. Choose a tray in which the halves fit perfectly. I like to serve them in the same tray in which I bake them. So choose the tray accordingly. I have used 3 peaches here but you can half or double the recipe easily.

Cut 2 tablespoon butter into 6 equal pieces. Keep a piece of butter over each half.

    Butter kept over peaches.

Mix 2 tablespoon brown sugar and ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon in a small mixing bowl.

Sugar and cinnamon mixed in a bowl.

Sprinkle this mixture over the peaches evenly. If using alcohol like bourbon, rum or brandy, pour a teaspoon of it over each peach half at this stage.

Sugar mixture sprinkled over the peaches.

Keep the tray in the middle rack of the oven and bake for 18-20 mins until peaches are golden brown from the top. Remove the tray from the oven. Transfer the baked peaches to the serving plates using a flat serving spatula. Drizzle some of the juice from the tray over them. Top with your favourite topping and serve warm.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How to make it vegan?

To make it vegan, you can make a mixture of olive oil, maple syrup, coconut sugar/brown sugar, and cinnamon powder. Top the peaches with this mixture and bake for 20-30 minutes.

Can you make it with alcohol?

Yes, definitely! If you are looking for a boozy dessert, you can also pour some brandy, bourbon, or rum on top, before baking.

How to make these with an oat crumble?

Add 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoon rolled oats, 2 tablespoon brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 2 tablespoon cold butter in a bowl. Cut the butter using a fork to make a crumbly mixture. Top the peaches with this mixture and bake until brown from the top.

    Serving Suggestions

Serve these juicy and delicious baked peaches warm, topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or even Greek yogurt.

You can also top it with caramel syrup or chocolate syrup. Sprinkle some granola and nuts on top.

Ricotta Cheese – Add in cinnamon powder, sugar, and ricotta cheese, and then spoon it inside the peaches. Bake and serve.

Mascarpone – Once you bake the peaches, top it with a mixture of mascarpone, honey, and heavy cream. Sprinkle some more cinnamon powder and serve.

Top your Instant Pot Oatmeal with these cooked peaches for a fruity breakfast.

    Storage Suggestions

These baked peaches last for about 4-5 days in the refrigerator, when stored in an airtight container. If you have any leftover sugar-cinnamon mixture, you can store that too, and add a little again on top while reheating.

To reheat, place the refrigerated peaches in a bowl or a plate and microwave it for about 30 seconds. If reheating in the oven, then place them in a baking sheet and heat at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes.
