    About Cheese Ramen Noodles

Cheese Ramen Noodles are nothing but your instant ramen noodles with cheese. It is a delicious Korean-inspired one-pot meal where ramen is made cheesy and rich with the addition of milk, cheese, and butter.

These cheesy ramen became quite popular on TIKTOK during the lockdown and soon became the lockdown comfort food due to their easy preparation and incredible cheesy taste.

Cheese ramen are filling, requires minimal effort and ingredients, and comes together in just 5 minutes.

Preparing these instant noodles with cheese and milk makes the spicy ramen a little milder and super cheesy, which is loved by both, kids as well as adults.

Serve these on their own or top them with a fried egg for a quick and comforting meal.

This recipe can be easily doubled or tripled.

    Ingredients

    Cheese ramen noodles ingredients.

You need a few ingredients to make this instant noodle with cheese recipe – a pack of instant ramen noodles, water, milk, garlic powder, salted butter, cheese, ground black pepper, and green onions (scallions).

Any instant ramen noodles will work for this recipe, so choose your favorite one.

You can get the ramen noodles from any large grocery store, Asian specialty stores, or online.

I have used cheddar cheese here, but you can go ahead and select from a variety of cheeses like mozzarella cheese, gouda cheese, American cheese, monetary jack cheese, parmesan cheese, or any other cheese that you prefer. You can also use a mix of 2-3 cheeses.

If you live in India, then processed cheese like Amul or Brittania also works fine.

Milk is used to make the broth rich and creamy.

The noodles are flavored with instant noodles seasoning spices, garlic powder, and black pepper powder. You can adjust the seasonings as per your taste.

You can also add a teaspoon of soy sauce to this cheesy ramen noodles recipe.

How To Make Cheese Ramen Noodles

Heat 1 cup of water in a pan over medium-high heat and bring it to a boil.

    Water boiling in a pan.

Once the water comes to a boil, add 1 package (3 oz) of noodles to the pan and cook the noodles for 2 minutes, stirring a few times in between.

Do not overcook otherwise the noodles will become mushy.

    Noodles added to the pan.
    Cooked noodles.

Drain the extra water and transfer the noodles back to the pan.

Strained noodles added back to the pan.

    Add

    • 1 cup milk (or ½ cup milk for less soupy noodles)
    • seasoning packet
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon salted butter
    • ¼ cup grated cheddar cheese
    • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

and stir gently until the cheese melt and the sauce is creamy, stirring a few times while cooking.

Milk, butter, garlic powder, cheese, and pepper added to the pan.
    Mixed well.

Garnish with 1 teaspoon chopped scallions and some toasted sesame seeds (optional) and serve immediately!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Does cheese taste good with ramen?

Oh yes, though it is not a traditional combination, trust me, you will get addicted to it after just one bite.

    Variations

You can try many vegetarian and non-vegetarian variations of this Korean spicy cheese ramen recipe.

Add scrambled eggs or top the noodles with a fried or poached egg.

You can add a protein of choice like grilled or cooked shredded chicken, prawns, sausage, bacon, ham, etc to make a non-vegetarian version of the noodles.

Load the cheese ramen with blanched, roasted, or stir-fried veggies such as broccoli, asparagus, spinach, mushroom, peppers, peas, zucchini, tofu, etc.

Spice them up with red chili paste, cayenne pepper, paprika powder, or red pepper flakes.

    Storage Suggestions

Cheesy Ramen tastes the best when served right out of the pan, hot and cheesy.

Leftovers can be stored for a day in the fridge in an airtight container. Reheat in a pan or microwave. If you feel it has become a little thick, then add a little milk to adjust the consistency.

Very delicious but one cup milk made it very watery. I would do half a cup of milk next time.
