About Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie
Strawberry Banana Yogurt Smoothie is a 5-minute breakfast recipe made using fresh or frozen strawberries, ripe bananas, yogurt, milk, and honey.
This easy smoothie recipe can be your on-the-go breakfast for busy days or a refreshing afternoon snack on hot summer days. It is filling, and, most importantly, yummy.
You can make a cafe-worthy strawberry smoothie with yogurt using just 5 basic ingredients at home. This drink is gluten-free and can be easily made vegan.
Ingredients
Strawberries – You can use fresh or frozen strawberries. If using fresh strawberries, you will have to freeze them for a few hours.
Check my post on How To Freeze Strawberries when they are in season.
Bananas – Bananas make the base for the smoothie and are filling. You can skip adding bananas if you wish.
Yogurt – I have used plain yogurt, but you can use plain Greek yogurt, vanilla yogurt, or strawberry yogurt.
Milk – Milk is added to adjust the consistency and enhance the creaminess of this yummy smoothie. I prefer whole milk (full-fat), but you can choose low-fat, skim, or plant-based milk.
You can even opt for orange juice instead of milk. Use 100 percent fruit juice or make it at home.
Sweetener – You will need some sweetener, like honey or maple syrup, if you like your smoothie sweet. You can also use raw sugar.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie FAQs
You can make a vegan strawberry smoothie by replacing yogurt with plant-based yogurts like coconut yogurt, cashew yogurt, soy yogurt, and milk with almond, soy, coconut milk, or even orange juice. Use maple syrup instead of honey to sweeten the smoothie.
To make a smoothie bowl, make a thicker smoothie by adding less milk. Transfer the smoothie to a bowl. Top it with fresh fruit slices, chia seeds, coconut flakes, granola, muesli, dry fruits, and oats.
You can add nuts or a seed mix as well. Use edible flowers to make your smoothie bowls even more appealing.
Variations
Add your favorite fruits like berries, pineapple, cantaloupe, spinach, kale, coconut water, coconut milk, or orange juice.
You can even add a spoonful of oats.
Greens like spinach, kale, and other leafy greens are perfect for this smoothie.
To add a nutty texture, you can add nuts or nut butter, such as peanut butter or cashew butter.
Replace dairy milk with almond milk, cashew milk, or coconut milk to make a vegan smoothie.
To make a strawberry smoothie without bananas, replace bananas with mango, avocado, oats, chia seeds, or silken tofu.
Add cocoa powder to make a chocolate strawberry smoothie.
You can add flax, hemp, or chia seeds for a crunch and a nutty flavor.
Some people prefer ice cream shakes over smoothies. Smoothies are made with fruits and can use fresh or frozen fruit. While ice cream shakes utilize flavored ice cream and milk. If you prefer ice cream shakes, you can replace yogurt with ice cream and blend it with your choice of fruit.
Storage Suggestions
The simplest way to store a strawberry smoothie is to refrigerate it. Keep the smoothie in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Be sure to stir or shake the smoothie before drinking, as the ingredients may separate.
If you want to store the leftover smoothie longer, you can freeze it. Pour the smoothie into an airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw the smoothie in the fridge overnight or on the counter for a few hours before drinking.
