Usually, for dinner, we roll with a simple one-platter meal that I can make in minutes.
We mostly go for salads or one-pot meals like Creamy Baked Pesto Chicken Thighs and it works just fine for us.
This recipe takes just 20 minutes. Yes, it is a very quick and easy fish recipe that way!
Nevertheless, it is very tasty and has a mind-blowing texture.
Why? Because it is crisp on the outside. Whereas, on the inside, it is nicely flaky and juicy.
If you have tried my other tilapia recipe, which is Spicy Lemon Garlic Baked Tilapia, and liked it, you will love this recipe too.
To achieve a great crunch on the tilapia fillets, I have mainly used bread crumbs and grated Parmesan.
Also, I added Italian herbs to the Parmesan mixture so the coat doesn’t taste too bland.
If you get it baked well, this recipe for tilapia crusted with parmesan yields a beautiful golden-brown tilapia fillet.
Furthermore, it has the uplifting flavors of olive oil, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper, and herbs – all in one bite.
What more do you want, eh? This is seriously one of the best-baked dishes to make when you are running short on time, telling you!
Want its recipe? There you go.
Serving Suggestions
You can serve this dish as an appetizer on its own.
A glass of Red Wine Sangria will be a perfect match with this. If serving as the main course, pair it with Brown Rice, Apple Salad, or quinoa cooked with chicken stock.
Steamed vegetables are also a good option.
Instant Pot Garlic Mashed Potatoes pair great with this dish, too.
Does tilapia have to be thawed before cooking?
If you are on a time crunch, you can definitely cook the tilapia frozen.
Wash the pieces under running water to remove any frost, then dab them with a kitchen towel.
Now coat them with the Parmesan mixture and bake.
You can also soak the frozen tilapia fillets in water, changing the water every 10 minutes to thaw them quickly.

Can you use freshly grated Parmesan from a wedge or does it have to be the more coarse, pre-grated cheese from a tub? Thank you!
You can use whichever you have handy.
