This homemade Avocado Lime Dressing will take less than 5 minutes of your kitchen time. Just add in all the ingredients in the blender and blend to get a smooth dressing.
Super creamy, spicy, and tangy, this dressing will surely be a new favorite to make your simple and boring salads interesting. To make it healthier, you can replace sour cream with Greek yogurt or use fat-free sour cream.

Avocado – Finding a good avocado can be a task sometimes. You will need a ripe avocado for this dressing. When you go to buy the same, press it lightly, it is soft, then it is ripe and good to buy. Ripe avocado adds a perfect creamy texture to the dressing. If the avocado is even very slightly raw, it will taste very bitter. So be very careful while choosing it.
Lime Juice & Lime Zest – To add the zesty flavor, we have lime juice and lime zest. Both add a refreshing flavor, that just makes the overall taste of the dressing so good.
Sour Cream & Mayonnaise – For the creaminess in the dressing, we will add a combination of sour cream and mayonnaise. Both of them are easily available in the market.
You can use fat-free sour cream, in place of the regular sour cream. You can even use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise for a healthy twist.
Garlic – This is a must ingredient, that you just cannot miss adding in this dressing, as it plays an essential role when it comes to its oh-so-good flavor. You can reduce the amount of garlic if you are not a fan of the garlicky flavor.
Cilantro – Now add in some green color and a refreshing flavor with cilantro. Make sure that the cilantro leaves are fresh and not wilted.
Seasonings – To enhance the flavor, even more, add in mixed Italian seasoning, red chili flakes, salt, and pepper. You can adjust the amount of red chili flakes and pepper as per the spice you need. The same goes with the Italian seasoning too.
How to make Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing?
Start by preparing the avocado. Choose a ripe avocado and cut it into half vertically. Now rotate the two halves in the opposite direction and separate them from each other. Using a paring knife, remove the seed and discard it. Now scoop out the avocado flesh using a large spoon and add it to the medium jar of a grinder.
Add ¼ cup lime juice, 2 tsp lime zest, ½ cup sour cream, ½ cup mayonnaise, 1 cup cilantro, 1 tsp chopped garlic, 1 tsp mixed Italian seasoning, ½ tsp red chili flakes, and salt and pepper to taste to the jar, and blend to make a smooth dressing. Scrap the sides of the jar while blending a few times.
The dressing is ready. Store it in a mason jar and use s required. Make sure to shake or stir it well before using.
