    About Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing

There are some dressings that just make you go ‘WOW’ with their first taste. It happened to me when I first had a bite of this salad in Chick-fil-A which had a creamy texture from Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing. I must say, it was love at the first bite.

But unfortunately, they don’t sell their dressing separately. So when I came back home, I decided to recreate the dressing and in just a few attempts, I got very close.

Sharing my version of this Chick Fil A Copycat Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing Recipe with you all to try.

This spicy and tangy dressing comes together in under 5 minutes using a few simple ingredients and is super rich and creamy

This Chick-fil-a copycat dressing can be served as a dip with fried starters, crackers, chips, etc, or can be added to tacos, sandwiches, burgers, and wraps. It is just super versatile and tastes heavenly!

The homemade dressing is prepared with high-quality and real ingredients, has no artificial color, no non-GMO oil, and is also free of preservatives.

It is vegetarian and gluten-free and this recipe will yield approximately 2 cups of dressing. You can easily half, double or triple the recipe.

    Ingredients

Avocado – Ripe avocado adds a perfect creamy texture to the dressing. If the avocado is even very slightly raw, it will taste very bitter. So be very careful while choosing it.

Lime Juice & Lime Zest – These two ingredients gives a lovely tang and a refreshing flavor to the dressing.

Sour Cream & Mayonnaise makes the base of this dressing.

You can use fat-free sour cream or Greek yogurt, in place of regular sour cream and mayonnaise to make the dressing healthier.

Garlic – Reduce the amount of garlic if you are not a fan of the garlicky flavor.

Cilantro – Use fresh leaves for the best flavor.

Seasonings – To enhance the flavor of the dressing, you will need mixed Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

How To Make Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing

Start by preparing the avocado. Choose a ripe avocado and cut it in half vertically.

Now rotate the two halves in the opposite direction and separate them from each other.

Using a paring knife, remove the seed and discard it.

Now scoop out the avocado flesh using a large spoon and add it to the medium jar of a blender.

    Add

    • ¼ cup lime juice
    • 2 teaspoon lime zest
    • ½ cup sour cream
    • ½ cup mayonnaise
    • 1 cup cilantro (packed)
    • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
    • 1 teaspoon mixed Italian seasoning
    • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

to the jar and blend to make a smooth dressing. Scrap the sides of the jar a few times while blending.

All the ingredients added to a blender.

Add some water if the dressing is thick for your liking.

Check for salt and pepper and add more if needed.

The dressing is ready. Store it in a mason jar and use it as required. Make sure to shake or stir it well before using it.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How to make vegan avocado ranch dressing?

To make it vegan, you can use vegan sour cream and mayonnaise instead of regular ones. All other ingredients used in this dressing are vegan-friendly.

How to choose a ripe avocado?

To choose a ripe avocado, look for one that is dark in color and slightly soft to the touch. Avoid avocados that are too hard or have any brown or moldy spots. Additionally, give the avocado a gentle squeeze to check for any firmness; a ripe avocado will yield slightly to pressure. If you plan on using the avocado in the next day or two, look for one that is slightly under-ripe, as it will continue to ripen at room temperature.

    Serving Suggestions

This dressing is super versatile and can be used in many ways. Here are some of my favorites.

It is one of my favorite creamy dressings for salads. It just makes the simple and boring salads so delicious and refreshing. If it looks very thick, thin it out with some water.

You can serve it as a dip with crackers, tortilla chips, bread, veggie stick, or even your favorite starters and appetizers.

Pour it on tacos, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, burritos, taquitos, and whatnot!

Drizzle this dressing over grilled meats such as chicken, fish, beef, prawns, etc. You can also drizzle it over baked veggies, potato wedges, or french fries.

    Storage Suggestions

This dressing will last in the fridge for 3 to 5 days. Store it in a covered mason jar or a glass bottle. Every time you use it, make sure you use a clean and dry spoon to take out the dressing.
