About This Recipe

My latest kitchen experiment resulted in the most amazing homemade Iced Vanilla Latte, inspired by the iconic Starbucks version.

Here’s the deal: I brewed up some strong coffee, grabbed my favorite milk, added a splash of vanilla syrup, and topped it all off with plenty of ice. The result? A refreshing, creamy delight that rivals anything you’d get from the coffee shop.

I took on the challenge of recreating that Starbucks magic at home, and let me tell you, the outcome was beyond delicious. And get this – you don’t need fancy equipment to make it happen. Just a few simple ingredients and a craving for something cool and caffeinated.

Not only is this homemade version super easy to whip up, but it’s also a budget-friendly alternative to constantly hitting up your local Starbucks. Plus, you have full control over the ingredients to customize it exactly to your liking.

This latte ticks all the boxes, whether you’re sticking to a vegetarian, gluten-free, or vegan lifestyle. It’s the perfect pick-me-up for those hot summer days when you need something chilled and satisfying.

So why wait in line at the coffee shop when you can create your deliciousness right at home? Try this recipe and treat yourself to the ultimate coffeehouse experience without ever leaving your kitchen.

Ingredients

Iced vanilla latte ingredients.

Coffee – You will need strongly brewed coffee. I like to use my French Press Cold Brew to make this drink, but you can brew the coffee however you like. A mocha pot, simple brew machine, Aeropress, or any method works fine. Instant coffee dissolved in water can also be used.

If you have an espresso machine, then 2 shots of chilled espresso also work well in this recipe.

Get freshly ground coffee beans from Starbucks for a very close taste.

Milk – I like to use whole milk to make my latte, but you can also use half and half, skim milk, or fat-free milk.

You can substitute the dairy milk with almond, soy, coconut, oat, or any other dairy-free (plat-based) option if you want a vegan version.

Vanilla Syrup – Make the vanilla syrup at home or use store-bought.

To make homemade vanilla syrup, add 1 cup of sugar (white sugar or brown sugar) and ½ cup of water to a pan. Cook on medium heat until the sugar is dissolved, stirring a few times. Remove the pan from heat and let the syrup cool. Mix well with 2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or 1 scraped vanilla bean). Transfer to a glass bottle and refrigerate for up to 1 month. Use as required.

Want to add more flavor to the iced latte? Add in a little ground cinnamon. It adds a unique flavor to the vanilla iced coffee.

You can also freeze some brewed coffee in ice cube trays and use the coffee cubes instead of plain ice cubes to make the latte. This trick will not dilute your cold coffee drink as you sip on it.
