Chilled coffee is everyone’s weakness, especially in Summers! And therefore we keep going to everyone’s favorite Starbucks, to get that cup of goodness, that can satisfy our thirst as well as taste buds. And one of my favorite at Starbucks is this, Chocolate Chip Frappe.
We all love our Lattes and Frappes, but let’s agree to it that buying the drink every day from the cafe comes out to be very expensive. And thus I prepared this Chilled Chocolate Drink at home and it came out as delicious as the Starbuck’s one.
You must be thinking it is Starbucks, but where is the coffee in it. Yes, this drink is made with the goodness of chocolate and not coffee. Just blend in chocolate syrup and chocolate chips with milk and ice cubes, and your chilled beverage is ready.
It is also slightly flavored with vanilla extract and cinnamon powder, which makes it even yummier. I have also added Xanthum Gum, which helps in the thickening of the coffee, but it is completely optional.

Milk – I always prefer full-fat milk for my coffees and chocolate drinks, because they turn out nice and creamy. But you can even use skim milk and low-fat milk to make this coffee.
If you are looking for a dairy-free option, you can use almond milk, coconut milk, or any other plant-based milk to make the coffee. The taste will differ a bit, but it still tastes yum.
Chocolate Syrup – Chocolate Syrup is added to give it that chocolaty flavor. You can use any chocolate syrup, that is available in the market.
Mini Chocolate Chips – This drink also uses chocolate chips, which makes the drink more chocolaty and creamy.
Always go for high quality chocolate syrup and chocolate chips for the best taste.
Ice Cubes – Ice cubes are used which makes it chilled. But if you like it to be less cold, you can use fewer ice cubes and add a little water instead.
Sugar – Granulated sugar is added so that it gets dissolved in the drink. You can adjust the amount of sugar as per your taste.
Vanilla Extract – Vanilla Extract makes any drink more flavourful and also adds a slight hint of aroma to the same.
Ground Cinnamon – Cinnamon adds a cherry on top. Cinnamon and Chocolate is a bomb combination and the same works really well in this drink too.
Xanthum Gum – This is completely optional and it works as a thickening and stabilizing agent in these drinks. If you like it to have that cafe like consistency, you can add in this ingredient.
Step By Step Recipe
Add all the ingredients in blender or a heavy duty blender and blend until smooth.
Pour the drink in serving glasses.
Top with whipped cream.
Garnish with chocolate syrup and coco chips and serve immediately.

- 1 cup Milk
- 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup Mini Chocolate Chips
- 2 tbsp Chocolate Syrup
- 2 cups Ice Cubes
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 tsp Xanthum Gum (optional)
- 1 pinch Ground Cinnamon
- Add all the ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour the drink in serving glasses.
- Top with whipped cream.
