About This Recipe
A creamy and delicious Pasta is all you need for a busy weekday, right? This one-pot Jambalaya Pasta or Pastalaya is the recent one to join my bandwagon of favorite Pasta recipes.
Not only it is delicious, but it is also so easy and quick to make that I often find myself making it for my weekday meals.
Jambalaya is basically a mixture of rice which is cooked with ham, sausage, chicken, shrimp, peppers, onions along with a variety of herbs. But here, we are using the same combination to make a Pasta, therefore it is named as Jambalaya Pasta.
This Pasta is filled with lots of protein that comes from chicken, sausages, and shrimp. Yes, these all are used in this Pasta along with Cajun seasoning making it even more unique and different from other Pasta recipes.
Other than these, you will just need a few more ingredients to get this Pasta ready on the table and give it that delicious deep Louisiana flavor.
This Pastalaya is one of the most popular dishes served in Cheesecake Factory. And if you have ever tried the Cheesecake Factory’s pasta, this one tastes just like that. Well, here you have one more reason to try this Pasta recipe.
This Cajun Jambalaya Pasta is,
- One-Pot dish
- Easy & Quick
- Perfect for weekday meals
- Just like Cheesecake Factory’s Pasta
Pasta – You can use any Pasta of your choice to make this Jambalaya Pasta. You can opt for Penne, Spaghetti, Farfalle, Rigatoni, or any other Pasta variety you prefer.
Chicken – Use Chicken Breast for this Pasta. Cut them into bite-sized chunks before adding in the dish.
Sausage – Here, we will use sliced Andouille Sausage, which is more chunky in texture because of the chopped pork. It has a coarse, smoky, and sharp taste that adds a unique flavor in the pasta. However, feel free to use any sausage.
Shrimps – Clean and devein the shrimp before using it. Shrimps are added later, once the chicken and sausages are partially cooked, as shrimps take less time to cook. If you add them with chicken, they will get overcooked and become chewy.
Bell Pepper – Along with all the meat, we will also add in red and green bell pepper, as the traditional Jambalaya dish uses bell pepper as one of its main ingredients.
Cajun Seasoning – This seasoning is a delicious blend of paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, pepper, and oregano, which adds a lot of flavor in the Pasta. Try my homemade Cajun Seasoning for the best result.
Tomato – Tomatoes are used to make the sauce, which adds a tangy sweet taste in the dish.
Chicken Broth – To add in more flavor in the sauce, add in some chicken broth. You can either use the homemade chicken broth or the store-bought one.
Parsley – Finally, garnish it with some parsley for an added refreshing taste.
