If a few sauces are handy, life becomes very easy. I always make and store at least one sauce in my fridge. These sauces can then be used to make or top various dishes. I recently came across a recipe to make pasta sauce using sour cream. I had a tub of sour cream sitting in my fridge, so I thought I would give the recipe a try. It was approved by everyone at home.

About Sour Cream Pasta Sauce

This Pasta Sauce is the easiest and yummiest pasta sauce you can make on a busy day.

It is creamy, needs simple pantry ingredients, and comes together in under 15 minutes.

Once the sauce is ready, toss in some cooked pasta and sauteed veggies or protein, and a quick meal is ready in no time.

Ingredients

Sour Cream – I like to use full-fat sour cream, but you can also use light or fat-free sour cream to reduce calories.

Butter – Adds a rich flavor to the sauce. You can use salted or unsalted butter.

Garlic – Use fresh garlic for the best taste.

Flour – It makes the sauce thick and creamy. To make the pasta sauce healthier, replace it with whole wheat flour.

Milk – Use whole milk for a rich and creamy sauce. You can also make it with low-fat or skim milk.

Seasonings – Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and nutmeg powder. Adjust it according to your choice.

You can also add the seasoning of your choice, such as Cajun seasoning, mustard, red pepper flakes, paprika, etc, for added flavor.
