My day starts with a large cup of green tea. I mostly use Organic Tulsi green tea leaves from Fabindia, but I also occasionally like to experiment with different flavors.

This winter, I made green tea flavored with ginger and liked it. I made it on repeat for many days. Now, making green tea is not a recipe, but still, many people get confused about how to brew it perfectly.

About Ginger Green Tea

Ginger Green Tea is a refreshing beverage combining green tea’s and ginger’s health benefits.

It is prepared by infusing green tea leaves and fresh ginger in hot water.

The tea is known for its potential health benefits, including improved digestion, enhanced immune system, better cardiovascular health, and weight loss.

Ginger-flavored green tea combines the fresh, grassy flavors of green tea with the spicy, warming notes of ginger.

This tea often has a sweet, spicy taste with a warm, soothing aroma. The ginger can add a bit of heat or kick to the otherwise mild green tea, and the green tea can have a light, almost floral or vegetal undertone.

Ingredients

Ginger – To make this tea, use organic fresh ginger root. If fresh ginger is not available, you can use ground ginger. Read about the benefits of ginger here.

Green Tea – I used green tea bags, but you can also use loose tea leaves. Read about the benefits of green tea here.

Lime Juice – Freshly squeezed lime juice gives a nice tang to the tea.

Sweetener – Use any sweetener of your choice.

You can also add mint leaves, grated fresh turmeric, cinnamon, orange peel, etc to this tea recipe.

How To Make Ginger Flavored Green Tea

Put 2 and ½ cups of water in a saucepan and add 1 tablespoon grated ginger. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. This will allow the ginger to infuse the water.

After 5 minutes, turn off the heat and add 1 green tea bag (or 1 tablespoon loose tea leaves).

Cover the saucepan and let it steep for 1 minute.

Strain the tea into serving cups or a teapot, removing the ginger pieces and the tea leaves.

Add your preferred sweetener to taste and 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice, and stir well.

Serve hot.

Ingredients 

  • 2 and ½ cups water
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 green tea bag (or 1 tablespoon loose green tea leaves)
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup (or any other sweetener you prefer)
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice

Instructions
