About Schezwan Paneer Fried Rice
Schezwan Paneer Fried Rice is a spicier version of the Indo-Chinese Paneer Fried Rice recipe.
Cooked rice is stir-fried with fried paneer cubes, crunchy vegetables, schezwan sauce, and a few more Chinese sauces.
It is easy to make, loaded with umami flavors, and comes together in under 20 minutes.
You can also customize this recipe to your taste. Add more veggies or protein, or adjust the sauces to your taste.
Schezwan Paneer Rice can be served on its own or with Veg Manchurian or Chilli Chicken.
It is a great dish to pack in a school or office lunch box.
Ingredients
Cooked Rice – Leftover rice works best for this recipe. I prefer long-grain basmati rice, but you can use short-grain white rice.
To change the taste, you can replace white rice with cooked brown rice, couscous, quinoa, broken wheat, cauliflower, etc.
If you cook fresh rice, cool it completely before stir-frying with other ingredients.
Paneer is the star ingredient of this recipe. For the best taste, use soft, non-chewy paneer. You can replace paneer with tofu to make it vegan.
Veggies – I used carrots, green beans, mixed bell peppers, and green cabbage, but you can use any veggies you like. Mushrooms, broccoli, Asian greens, etc., are some examples.
Schezwan Sauce – Make Schezwan Sauce at home using my easy recipe or buy a bottle.
Others – You will also need oil, ginger, garlic, spring onions, dry red chilies, hot sauce, white vinegar, soy sauce, tomato ketchup, salt, and MSG.
MSG is optional but adds a beautiful flavor.
You can adjust the quantity of sauces as per your taste.
