    About Champps Copycat Seasoned Sour Cream (No Mayo)

    This Champps copycat Seasoned Sour Cream is the best and a must-try party dip! It is made using sour cream, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and a few more simple pantry staples. It is easy to make, addictive and comes together in just 5 minutes.

    This no mayo dip is best served with chips, crackers, fries, wedges, veggie sticks, or fried appetizers and snacks.

    Make sure to refrigerate it for a few hours for the flavors to develop nicely.

    My recipe makes approximately 1 cup of this dip, but you can easily double or triple it.

    Ingredients

    Seasoned sour cream ingredients

    Sour Cream – Sour cream makes the base of this recipe; use full-fat or light. Make it at home using my easy sour cream recipe or buy a tub.

    You can also replace sour cream with plain Greek yogurt to make the dip healthier.

    Lemon Juice – Freshly squeezed lemon juice gives a lovely tanginess to the dip.

    You can replace lemon juice with lime juice too. Keep in consideration that lime juice is tangier than lemon juice.

    Worcestershire Sauce – It gives the sauce a mix of sweet, spicy, sour, and umami flavors.

    Seasonings – You will need a mix of seasonings such as dried parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and ground black pepper. You can adjust the seasonings depending on your taste.

    For a more refreshing flavor, you can add some fresh herbs such as green onions (scallions), parsley, thyme, cilantro, etc.

    You can replace smoked paprika with cayenne pepper too.

    Extra seasonings like taco seasoning or ranch seasoning can also be added to the recipe for a flavor change.

    How To Make Seasoned Sour Cream

    In a medium mixing bowl, add

    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
    • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon onion powder
    • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ¼ teaspoon black pepper.
    All the ingredients added to a bowl.

    Mix well using a wire whisk until combined and refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour before serving.

    Ready seasoned sour cream.

    Can I make it vegan?

    Yes, just replace dairy sour cream with plant-based sour cream. All the other ingredients are vegan-friendly. Vegan sour cream can often be found in health food stores or the vegan section of grocery stores.

    Are there any health considerations for consuming this spiced sour cream dip?

    This dip is relatively high in fat and calories. It’s important to consume it in moderation as part of a balanced diet.

    Serving Suggestions

    Serve this no-mayo sour cream dip along with waffle fries, just like how you get at Champps.

    This sour cream sauce is also a great dip to serve with potato chips, tortilla chips, crackers, french fries, sweet potato fries, potato wedges, and sweet potato wedges.

    You can serve it with fresh veggies like carrot sticks, cucumbers, celery, red bell pepper, etc, or any of your favorite appetizers or snack like cajun chicken wings, chicken pakora, cauliflower bites, etc.

    You can also use it as a spread for sandwiches, wraps, burgers, or open toasties.

    Thin it down a little and use it as a salad dressing.

    This delicious dipping sauce is also a great addition to your Buddha bowls.

    I also like to serve it with grilled chicken breasts, roasted red potatoes, steamed broccoli, and grilled fish.

    Storage Suggestions

    Sour Cream with seasoning will last for about 1 week in an airtight container in the refrigerator if made using a freshly opened tub or freshly made sour cream.

    Use a clean and dry spoon for every use, it will ensure that it will last longer.

    It is not recommended to freeze it as the texture and consistency may change upon thawing.
