About Yogurt Mayonnaise Dip

Yogurt And Mayonnaise Dip is a variation of classic ranch dip, with some mayonnaise replaced with Greek yogurt.

This dip comes together in under 10 minutes using simple ingredients and is great to serve as a party appetizer with french fries, nachos, crackers, potato chips, or fresh veggie sticks. It is also great to slather on sandwiches and wraps.

Making this dip at home is much better than buying a packet because

  1. Homemade is free of preservatives.
  2. It tastes much better than the store-bought one.
  3. Made using high-quality ingredients.
  4. Free of artificial colors and flavors.
  5. Much economical.

Ingredients

Greek Yogurt is the base of this recipe. Regular yogurt can also be used, but Greek yogurt is recommended for a creamier texture.

Tip – To make thick yogurt using plain yogurt, line a fine-mesh strainer with a muslin cloth. Add the yogurt to the strainer and let it sit over a bowl for 20 minutes. All the extra water will drip down, and you will get thick yogurt.

Mayonnaise – The full-fat mayonnaise gives you a creamier dip. You can also choose light mayo to save on some calories.

Sour Cream – Adds a slightly tangy taste along with adding to the creamy texture. I have a super simple recipe for making sour cream at home. Do check it out.

Italian Seasoning – Italian seasoning adds more flavors, making the dip even more addictive.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Use a high-quality one!

Others – You will also need garlic, freshly squeezed lime juice, lime zest, red pepper flakes, salt, and ground black pepper.

Lime juice and zest can be replaced with lemon juice and lemon zest.

You can also add fresh herbs like fresh parsley, fresh chives, or basil, but the shelf life will be slightly reduced.

Add a little heat to the dip by adding some hot sauce or cayenne pepper.

My new favorite veg dip. I used 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper as I had no crushed red pepper flakes.

This is an awesome garlic sauce recipe! Thank you for posting. My only change was substituting extra mayo for the sour cream as I didn’t have any, and my Greek yogurt was 0%. I used it to top some homemade chickpea burgers and it was perfect. I bet it is fantastic with chips too
