    About This Recipe

Made using juicy cantaloupe, banana, yogurt, and orange juice, cantaloupe smoothie is super creamy, refreshing, and naturally sweet.

This super healthy cantaloupe smoothie comes together in just 5 minutes and you can serve it for breakfast, snack or dessert. Double or triple as per your need.

I often peel and cut cantaloupe and banana a night before and freeze it, so that in the morning I just have to add everything to the blender and blend it.

And the days when cantaloupe is not in season, I even freeze them so that I can enjoy my cantaloupe banana smoothie whenever I carve for it.

    This cantaloupe banana smoothie is,

    • Delicious
    • Creamy
    • Easy + Quick
    • Refreshing
    • Filling

    Ingredients

    Cantaloupe smoothie ingredients.

Cantaloupe – Peel the cantaloupe, remove the seeds and cut it into 1-inch cubes. In case, you do not get fresh cantaloupe, you can even use the frozen ones.

Banana – Try to use frozen bananas in your smoothies, as it adds a super creamy texture to the same along with adding a subtle flavor and sweetness. Just peel and slice the bananas and freeze them for 3-4 hours in a container.

Freezing the bananas is also a great way to retain them for longer, as they tend to turn black and soggy if kept outside for longer.

Yogurt – Add in some yogurt to make a creamy and thick smoothie. To make it vegan, you can always use vegan yogurt.

Orange Juice – I would prefer to use freshly squeezed orange juice for the same, but if oranges are not in season, you can always use store-bought orange juice too.

No added sugar required, as the ingredients in it make it naturally sweet. But if you feel you need it to be a little sweeter, then you can add in a little honey.

Other add ons – You can also add in collagen peptides or protein powder, if you need some extra nutrition or making it for your post-pre workout snack.

You can also add in other fruits such as strawberry or other berries or even greens such as spinach, kale, etc to make it even more filling and nutritious.

Chia seeds, flax seeds and hemp seeds can also be added to up the nutritional benefits.

    How to make Cantaloupe Smoothie?

Start by preparing the fruits. Wash the cantaloupe and cut it into half using a sharp knife. You will need one half to make one glass of smoothie. Remove the seeds using a large spoon and discard them. Peel the thick skin of the cantaloupe and cut it into cubes.

Peel a large banana and slice it. Freeze it for 3-4 hours.

Juice a fresh orange. You can also use canned juice.

Add 1 cup peeled and cubed cantaloupe, ½ cup peeled, sliced and frozen banana, 2 tablespoon yogurt, and ¼ cup orange juice to a high-speed blender.

Cantaloupe, frozen banana, yogurt and orange juice added to a blender.

    Blend until smooth.

    Ready to blend.

Pour the smoothie to a serving glass and serve immediately.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How to freeze cantaloupe?

To freeze cantaloupe, select a good firm and ripe cantaloupe. Now, cut the rind and remove the seeds and cube the flesh. Place it on a baking tray in a single layer and freeze for about an hour. Once done, pack them into freezer-safe ziplock bags and freeze.

    How to make it vegan?

To make it vegan, you can replace the yogurt with any vegan yogurt of your choice. You can also add in almond milk, instead of yogurt but it will just thin out the consistency a bit.

    Serving Suggestions

You can serve it for your morning breakfast or as a snack. You can also make yourself a smoothie bowl, by just adding the smoothie in a bowl and topping it with fruits, seeds, nuts, granola, coconut flakes, etc.

This smoothie is also great as a healthy dessert.

You can easily double or triple the recipe, if you are making for more number of people.
