    About This Recipe

This Cafe Style Nutella Milkshake is a delicious milkshake recipe that is made using just 3 ingredients – milk, vanilla ice cream, and Nutella. It gets its rich and creamy texture from vanilla ice cream and the chocolaty nutty flavor from Nutella.

Nutella milkshake is super easy to make and gets ready in under 5 minutes. All you have to do is add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until everything comes together.

It is a great summer beverage for your kids when they want something chilled after their evening outdoor games.

Making it at home is much more economical than having it at your favorite cafe and when you can make a delicious one at home, why spend those dollars!

This recipe can be easily doubled or tripled.

    Ingredients

    Nutella milkshake ingredients.

Milk – Use whole milk (full-fat milk) to make a creamy and rich shake.

Nutella – Nutella is easily available at any grocery store near you. You can adjust the amount of Nutella depending upon how chocolaty you want the shake to be.

Vanilla Ice Cream – Add it for that much-needed sweetness, richness, and creaminess. If you want the shake to be more chocolaty, then go for chocolate flavor instead.

The ice cream should be a little soft (not runny) when added to the blender. If it’s too hard it will not blend properly.

Do not add ice to the milkshake otherwise, it will water it down and the taste will be affected.

You can add banana, coffee powder, peanut butter, etc as extra ingredients and make a different version of this Nutella milkshake.

    How To Make Nutella Milkshake

Freeze 2 tall serving glasses for 30 minutes.

Add 1 cup chilled whole milk, 5-6 scoops of vanilla ice cream, and 4 tablespoon Nutella to the large jar of a blender and blend until smooth.

Milk, ice cream and Nutella added to a blender.

Tip – Do not add Nutella as the first thing in the jar as it might get stuck to the blades and not mix properly.

Pour the milkshake into the chilled serving glasses.

Top with whipped cream, drizzle some chocolate syrup and sprinkle crushed toasted hazelnuts on top and serve immediately.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How to make Nutella milkshake without a blender?

You can use a hand mixer or a milk frother in case you do not have a blender to make the milkshake. You can also add all the ingredients to an airtight tumbler and shake vigorously until everything comes together.

How to make a vegan Nutella shake?

Unfortunately, the main ingredient in this milkshake – Nutella, is not vegan. And therefore, it is impossible to make a vegan version of this drink. If you still want a vegan version, you can use any vegan chocolate spread instead of Nutella and blend it with non-dairy milk and vegan ice cream.

    How to make it healthier?

To make it healthier, use skim milk, and instead of ice cream, add frozen bananas and frozen vanilla yogurt.

    Storage Suggestions

This milkshake tastes the best when made fresh. Ice cream tends to melt when stored and the milkshake loses its creaminess. But in case you have leftovers, store them in a glass jar in the fridge and consume them within a day. Do not forget to shake it well before you consume it.
